What is AVGS and who is eligible?

AVGS (Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein) is a sponsorship voucher from an Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter in Germany, intended for people who are looking for work, are unemployed, or want to change careers.

If you are receiving financial assistance or are formally registered for employment, you may be eligible to apply for AVGS to participate in vocational training courses – including in the beauty industry.

In Berlin, many AZAV-certified academies, such as Mina Le Beauty Academy, offer beauty training programs that are AVGS-accepted.

Step 1: Register your job search status.

You need:

Register at Jobcenter or Agentur für Arbeit
I have an appointment with a consultant.
Express your desire to learn a trade to increase your job opportunities.

Prepare a clear career plan: “I want to learn nail/lash artistry to work in a salon or start my own business.”

Step 2: Choose a suitable course

Not all courses are sponsored. You have to choose:

AZAV certified center
The program has the code AVGS
A clear learning roadmap and training schedule.

Step 3: Submit your AVGS application.

You need:

Letter explaining career goals
Course information
Commitment to full participation

A specialist will assess your ability to re-enter the labor market. Step 4: Receive the voucher and confirm with the academy.

After approval:

You receive AVGS in writing.
Send it back to the academy.
Complete the enrollment process.

You don't have to pay tuition fees if you are accepted.

Step 5: Complete the course and find a job.

After the course:

Receive the certificate
Apply for a salon job
Or prepare to open your own shop.
